ONIPAA – Peace Week

Together In Peace 2020 – Day 1
Pule
“E hapai na kai o ka Moana Pakipika I na olelo hoouna o ka malu a me ka pono.”
“Let the seas of the Pacific Ocean carry messages of peace and good will.”
…excerpt from Pule, Pacific Peoples Prayer, translated by Mahealani Yamaguchi
REFLECTION
“The life of the land is perpetuated in righteousness.”
Hawaii State motto
Certainly in a year that has up-ended the gatherings to remember the healing inherent in the Hawaiian culture, the importance of Hawaii’s peace makers, seems the way to begin a week moving forward Together in Peace.
This Sunday we celebrate Queen Liliuokalani, her sacrifice and steadfast way forward for justice for all her people.
Remembering ONIPAA, held on the grounds of Iolani Palace and the bandstand with the prayers from faith and cultural leaders, speakers, music, hula halau and visits to the Palace. Aloha Oe, gracious Queen!
