14th Annual Awards Celebration Dinner

The Interfaith Alliance Hawai‘i is pleased to announce that Representative Dela Au Belatti, answered the call on short notice to be the keynote speaker at its 14th Annual Awards Celebration Dinner on October 23rd. Soon-to-retire, Senator Suzanne Chun Oakland, originally scheduled, was called out of town. True to Representative Belatti’s call to service, she agreed to step in to the role.

Belatti, an attorney, has represented the Makiki-Tantalus district since 2006. She is known for her presence in the community beyond her legislative duties as a volunteer, in organizing community town hall meetings, and her belief in maintaining fairness and inclusion for Hawai‘i’s people. As representative she serves on the house committees for health, housing, human services and the judiciary.

This year’s theme, “It’s Not My Problem: Taking Responsibility in an Irresponsible World,” examines the importance of learning and earning personal and social responsibility. Sparks of Hope awards will recognize community members who have stepped up to responsibility.

The celebration dinner will be held 5:30-8:00 p.m. at the Honpa Hongwanji Hawaii Betsuin Social Hall. There is no charge for dinner, but space is limited. However, reservations are required.
