“Reflections on Embracing the Baha’i Faith” on March 28, 2017
The All Believers Network presents “Reflections on Embracing the Baha’i Faith” on Tuesday, 28 March 2017, 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. at First Unitarian Church of Honolulu (2500 Pali Highway).
Long time adherents Mollie Sperry and Steve Paschal will share profound impacts of the Baha’i Faith on their perspectives and lives.
Having lived in Hawaii since 1969, after being born in California and raised in Massachusetts, Mollie Sperry’s most important journey has been her spiritual one. An adherent of the Baha’i Faith since 1981, she is currently Secretary-General of the National Spiritual Assembly of the Baha’is of the Hawaiian Islands. A lifelong learner and educator with a foundation in Psychology and advanced degrees in Education and Educational Administration, she recently retired as teacher, principal and head of school and continues to tutor.
A world traveler and Baha’i pioneer, Steve Paschal has lived with his family in Utah, Germany, Hong Kong and Taiwan—always returning to Hawaii. A former radio announcer, he is an artist known for landscapes, portraits and historical scenes, like the mural below which depicts a market square in Akka, Israel, in the late 1800s with ‘Abdu’l-Baha, son of the Prophet – Founder of the Baha’i Faith.
The format of All Believers Network (”Belnet”) monthly series themed: “Now that YOU asked ME….”, is inspired by the classic wisdom of the ancient Chinese sage Lao Tzu, who penned the Tao Te Ching a memoir requested by a gatekeeper as he departed his walled city for the last time into permanent retirement.
If unable to attend, many sessions can be seen on ‘Ōlelo TV Channel 53. New episodes premiere on the second Tuesday of each month at 6:00pm with “encores” at 11:30 am each Wednesday. Earlier episodes may be viewed or downloaded here and here.
