Newman Center Will Host the 30th Good Friday Taize Service

Newman Center on the UH Manoa Campus will host its ecumenical Taize service around the cross at 7:30 pm, April 19, 2019.

The Taize service finds its origins with the ecumenical community of more than 100 Catholic and Protestant brothers who live in the main monastery in Taize, France. In addition to the brothers four orders of Catholic sisters work in tandem with the brothers.

In Friday’s service prayers are offered for Christian unity, for persecuted Christians, refugees, the poor, and personal problems and needs. Taize music and chant are integral to the service.

For more information contact Jon James at 944-6983.

Free parking is available at St. Francis School campus or in front of the Newman Center. See More on Event Calendar page.
