No Ban Act News

Dear Cecilia,

We did it! In a historic vote, the U.S. House of Representatives just passed the NO BAN Act, which would end the bans on immigration from majority Muslim and African countries and establish vital protections against future discriminatory restrictions.

Discrimination on the basis of religion doesn’t make our country safer.

Since President Trump first announced the Muslim Ban in 2017, this horrific policy has kept children from their parents and forced Americans to miss the births, deaths, weddings and funerals of loved ones.

The Muslim and African Bans tarnish our reputation as a nation of possibility for immigrants and refugees. But interfaith communities never stopped fighting for justice. Alongside a diverse coalition of nearly 400 civil rights, faith, national security and community organizations and thanks to the advocacy and support of partners like you we asked elected officials to reject a discriminatory, xenophobic policy.

But the fight is not over.

Now, I hope you’ll join us in urging your senators to pass the NO BAN Act.

The NO BAN Act will help us begin the long work of restoring true religious freedom and repairing America’s proud legacy as a bastion for immigrants and refugees.

In solidarity,
Katy Joseph
