Rev. David Jackson

The Rev. David Jackson, or known as “Kahu Kawika,” was the Rector & Head of School of All Saints’ Episcopal Church & Preschool in Kapa‘a, Kaua‘i, Hawai‘i, since February 2020. He has just relocated to Kailua-Kona on Hawaiʻi Island into semi-retirement to work part-time and to take care of his in-home father-in-law.

Kahu Kawika is also currently an instructor in Bible and Church History in the Waiolahui‘ia Clergy Ministry program of the Episcopal Diocese of Hawai‘i.

In his 30th year of ordination, Kahu Kawika has served in a variety of church and academic settings, and is currently working on his doctoral dissertation through Virginia Theological Seminary on the impact of Kanaka Maoli spiritual values on The Episcopal Church on the Islands.

Kawika’s degrees include an AB in International Relations from Stanford University, an MDiv from Princeton Theological Seminary, a Master in Hebrew Studies from the University of Oxford, and a Diploma in Theology also from Oxford University.

Kahu Kawika enjoys swimming, exercising, reading, languages, trying to learn ʻukulele, playing games, traveling, and spending time with his family.
