Rev. Masunari Yamagishi
Board Member
ALOHA! Nice to meet you.
I am Reverend Masanari Yamagishi, a minister of Jodo Shinshu, Shin Buddhism in Big Island, Hawaii.
I am from Japan and moved to the U.S. for my job in 2018.
I was born and raised in the Shin Buddhism temple in the prefecture Toyama. At the age of 18, I received a minister ordination of Shin Buddhism “Tokudo”.
After graduated Ryukoku University, I had wanted to be an overseas minister “Kaikyoshi” for a long time.
I am happy to be in Hawaii now and looking forward to seeing a lot of people soon.
I enjoy so much staying in Waimea, the north of Big Island, and sharing the teachings of Jodo Shinshu with all members at four temples of Kamuela, Honokaa, Kohala, and Paauilo Hongwanji Mission today.
All the local people are so gentle to me, thankfully they help me a lot in my daily life with their ALOHA spirit.
I would like to cherish the peace and harmony around the world and respect all religious relationships between us like ALOHA!
If you want to contact me, please let me know without hesitation.
Thank you, Arigatou, and Mahalo!
