Rev. Dr. Cynthia E. Lynch

President

Reverend, Dr. Cynthia E. Lynch is an associate professor and Chair of the Master of Public Administration program at Hawaii Pacific University.

She received her Ph.D. from Southern University and A & M College, Nelson Mandela School of Public Policy and Urban Affairs in 2003, specializing in ethics on nonprofit organization.

She is a graduate The New Seminary, NY and was ordained at St. John the Devine in New York City in June 2008. She works in professional training in the areas of nonprofit management, board development, organizational design, ethics, and performance measurement and nonprofit management. In April 2024 she was appointed to the City/County of Honolulu Ethics commission by Mayor Blangiardi.

She has co-authored two books on religious thought with her husband, Rev. Dr. Thomas D. Lynch, The Word of the Light (1998) and The Christian Enigma (2014) and Ethics and Professionalism in the Public Service (2019).

With her husband, she is a co-director of the International Academy of Interfaith Studies. She is the past editor of the Global Virtue Ethics Review journal and has written several professional conference papers, book chapters and articles in the area of ethics and spiritual wisdom.
